I am pleased to announce a new edition of A Crown of Life, now available at the new low price of $19.95 for paperback and $4.99 for ebook. The book was written decades ago but is now more relevant than ever. It tells of a time when Christians were forbidden to worship publicly but risked their lives and livelihoods to do so. Today we face a similar threat and a similar choice of whether to go along with hostile authorities or to stand against them and bear witness to our faith in Jesus Christ.
This second edition improves a few dialogues, corrects a few typos, and makes more use of familiar words like bishop, deacon, and Church instead of modern English calques like overseer, server, and Assembly. Some names have also been shortened: The young prince Hannibalianus is now simply Hannibal, and Arelate is now Arelas (another ancient name of Arles, France). Little else has changed, so a great romance has gotten only better. If the world of today disheartens you, escape to the world of long ago and see how faith in Christ conquered the Roman Empire.
This book was fantastic. Please please please write another one!
Thanks. I wish I could write another novel. Not sure I’ll have time. So many other books to write.
